Make Better ChoicesWant to take a greener approach to your skincare products? Instead of using Mineral Oil, a cheap, heavy moisturizer that can plug up your pores and causes breakouts, use products that contain Beeswax. Beeswax has the same hydrating properties as mineral oil without potential buildup.
For a moisturizing body butter that contains Beeswax, check out Supernatural Botanicals Body Butters.

More Ways To Go GreenUnplug your blow dryer after using it. Appliances like this suck up energy even when they’re off, so you’ll save energy and money by unplugging. It’s the little changes like this that’s going to change the world. Watch and see!

Compact Fluorescent Light BulbsAccording to the Union of Concerned Scientists, if every U.S. household replaced just one regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb, it would prevent 90 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, the equivalent of taking 7.5 million cars off the road. And the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says that by replacing regular light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs at the same minimal rate, Americans would save enough energy to light more than 2.5 million homes for a year.

Quote: The human race is knowingly destroying the environment. We pretend there is nothing we can do about it, and that makes us all idiots. I am not going to make this a “green” point, so calm down. But couldn’t we just recycle as a bare-minimum effort to help the planet out a bit? Larry Winget, New York Times Bestselling Author, People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It!

Easy Green LivingBook Review: My current read is Renee Loux’s Easy Green Living. Its 396 pages of ideas to go Green.
The upside: The book is packed full of info such as Green Living, Green Cleaning, Steps to a Green Kitchen, Natural Beauty (a favorite of mine, of course), Energy Efficiency, etc. And, lets not lose focus here, it’s about being Green. I support anything or anyone who supports going Green.
The downside: The pages of the book don’t do much to draw you in with art work, and contains absolutely no pictures. This could all be in the spirit of being Green, but I know there are soy inks that could produce some excellent photos for the book. My personal view is…if you’re going to write a book, contain as much information as possible, and make it beautiful. How many times do you write a book in your life….twice? Three times?
Have you not yet considered going Green? I strongly urge you to watch Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. The environment is deteriorating before us and it’s equal opportunity deterioration, whether you’re a Rep or a Dem. Love him or hate him, and I love him, this issue isn’t about politics. It’s eye-opening informative, and down right frightening! Everyone I know has walked away from that movie a changed person. Borrow it from the library, and for a sneak peek, watch the trailer on You Tube.

Levi’s, Still ClassicsLevi’s…they’re still the sexiest, most classic jean around for guys and girls. And now, Levi’s has gone Green! Levi’s new Eco line of jeans are made with 100% organic and recycled cotton, grown without synthetic chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Lots of great styles to choose from for you or your man, with that classic Levi’s fit. Always perfect. I’ve never had a pair of Levi’s I didn’t like. I’ve even belted on some of the Irishman’s 28 inch, super-broke-in jeans back in the day when boyfriend jeans were all the rage. (okay, well I said it was back in the day, as in early to mid 90s.) Let me tell you, when you start exploring on his side of the closet, it opens up far more wardrobe possibilities.
Levi Strauss is another great company that recognizes our impact to our fragile eco-system. Way to be Green, Levi’s. Love that eco line!
