Recycled Water Bottles
Did you know that three-fourths of the bottles from bottled water do not get recycled? That’s 75%! Scientists roughly estimate that it takes 450-1000 years for a water bottle to decompose. If you are going to drink bottled water, please be mindful of the environment and recycle the bottle….and then encourage someone else to do the same. Plus, you’ll save money on trash bags. It’s one small step you can take to being more responsible to the environment. It’s everyone’s job!

Whether it be recycling, reducing the amount of trash you create, limiting your driving, changing your light bulbs out for compact fluorescent bulbs, conserving energy by unplugging items such as cell phone chargers and blow dryers, etc., just do something and get yourself started in the right direction. It’s not that hard…it’s about making good choices. So make some good choices today and do the right thing. Be an Earth Day hero! I am! Want to know more ways in which you can go green? Start here.

Pull The Plug, Go GreenPull the plug! Appliances like televisions and VCRs still suck power when turned off. An estimated 95 percent of the energy consumed by cellphone chargers comes when they are left plugged in.

Quote: The human race is knowingly destroying the environment. We pretend there is nothing we can do about it, and that makes us all idiots. I am not going to make this a “green” point, so calm down. But couldn’t we just recycle as a bare-minimum effort to help the planet out a bit? Larry Winget, New York Times Bestselling Author, People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It!

Easy Green LivingBook Review: My current read is Renee Loux’s Easy Green Living. Its 396 pages of ideas to go Green.
The upside: The book is packed full of info such as Green Living, Green Cleaning, Steps to a Green Kitchen, Natural Beauty (a favorite of mine, of course), Energy Efficiency, etc. And, lets not lose focus here, it’s about being Green. I support anything or anyone who supports going Green.
The downside: The pages of the book don’t do much to draw you in with art work, and contains absolutely no pictures. This could all be in the spirit of being Green, but I know there are soy inks that could produce some excellent photos for the book. My personal view is…if you’re going to write a book, contain as much information as possible, and make it beautiful. How many times do you write a book in your life….twice? Three times?
Have you not yet considered going Green? I strongly urge you to watch Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. The environment is deteriorating before us and it’s equal opportunity deterioration, whether you’re a Rep or a Dem. Love him or hate him, and I love him, this issue isn’t about politics. It’s eye-opening informative, and down right frightening! Everyone I know has walked away from that movie a changed person. Borrow it from the library, and for a sneak peek, watch the trailer on You Tube.

Go Green | Start Today
It’s no surprise that we’re all about the Green. Supernatural Botanicals is proud to be a pioneer company utilizing a Green approach to skincare. Our Green principals go far beyond all-natural and eco-friendly skincare products. We also exercise a Green approach in our lab as well, from recycling, printing, using cleaning products that are not harmful to our environment, proper lighting, weather-proofing, packaging, etc.
Being Green means being cognizant, being in the moment, being accountable, and being responsible. Pick one simple thing, such as using compact fluorescent light bulbs (sold everywhere), to start your own personal Green journey.
It’s only a matter of time before the planet punks us (for lack of a better word) into being more eco-friendly. So lets beat it to the punch and show the planet that we are appreciative and worthy of it.

Free Your Mind And The Rest Will FollowIf you open your closets and half the contents come tumbling out, or if your cabinets haven’t been cleaned out since 1998, it’s time to assess your environment. I believe this to be an extension of what’s going on in one’s life. When your environment is a mess, in most cases, your life is a mess.
Being orderly and clean is a sign of power, in actuality. By having things in their place, you take control of your life, your environment, your surroundings, your being. By mastering your environment, you take control. It’s an odd connection, but one I have found to be true over and over again.
I’ve known people who had unkempt homes. I’ve known people who had unkempt cars. And when I say unkempt, I mean grotesquely and utterly filthy. What’s interesting is to see how out of control other things in their life are as well. For instance, the aforementioned dirty house/dirty car person also had a huge weight issue they were dealing (or, moreover, not dealing) with, the aforementioned had debt due to a mismanaged (or a non-managed) budget, the aforementioned was divorced and lonely, the aforementioned had children that could have been shown better values by example, etc. The list goes on and on.
Having a place for everything and being tidy says much about who you are. And that can go to both extremes, in fact. If you are sloppy and unclean, that says something about you and what’s going on in your life (step it up.) If you are Sleeping With The Enemy organized, that also says something about you (take it down a notch before someone shoots you.) If you remember, Julia Roberts shoots him in the end, so lets not get crazy.
If you’re not already, you need to get in touch with having some order in your life and surrounding yourself with beauty. It makes your life far less chaotic, and calms your mind. It’s your sanctuary, after all. If you need to, start small. Tackle one closet a weekend. You can’t fail if you’re still trying, so do just that….try. Being unclean and cluttered just screams….I don’t have control over my life!! Take control. We can all do work on ourselves. I tend to border far to close to the Sleeping With The Enemy edges, personally. I’m working on that. And if you know someone who is overwhelmed with this, give them a hand. It’s nice to help get others going in the right direction. It’s the right thing to do.
Now go clean your closet, please.
