At Home Spa Treatments: Honey Oatmeal Facial
Steal 15 minutes to yourself tonight before going to bed to whip up a quick Honey Oatmeal Facial….although it can be used on the whole body. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse (or jump in the shower.) There’s something very therapeutic about taking even 15 minutes to yourself for me time. Put yourself on your To-Do list.
Honey Oatmeal Facial
1/4 cup plain yogurt or buttermilk
1/2 cup oatmeal
2 tablespoons of honey
Finely grind or process the oatmeal in a blender or food processor. Set aside. In a small bowl, stir together honey and yogurt, and then add ground oatmeal. Mix thoroughly until a smooth paste consistency has been reached. Smooth over your face and neck, leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water. Can be used daily.

Do Cucumbers Work?
True or False? Cucumbers contain a special ingredient that helps reduce puffy or swollen eyes. Experts believe this to be false.
Fact: More than 90% of cucumber consists of water. The real secret is the cooling effect of the water in the cucumbers. It is believe that the cooling effect of the water, combined with increased humidity, is what reduces swelling around the eyes. Cucumber in high concentration may help to improve the hydration of the skin, however, cucumbers do not contain any ingredients that specifically targets eye swelling…it’s the cool water in the cucumber that’s doing all the work.

Try This At Home…Spa WaterI’m always searching magazines and websites for spa recipes; recipes for spa foods and spa therapeutic treatments. I like to recreate this environment at home. I want to live like this everyday, not just when I have a day at the spa. Live beautifully. Burn your candles. Use your guest towels. Use your Spa Soaps (and Debbie, I’m talking to you! ha!) Use your good silver every day. And apply practices and principals that luxury spas use to your everyday life at home. It makes you feel prettier and happier!
Try this at home: Herb-Infused Spa Water. Courtesy of Sunset Magazine.
