Nail Soak
Posted on May 4th, 2009 at 6:06 PM by Supernatural Botanicals

nail-soak.jpg For brighter, whiter nails, soak fingertips in a mixture of gentle soapy water and lemon juice for 15 minutes each hand.  This is not recommended if you have very sensitive skin…lemon juice can be acidic, but is a perfect nail brightener for normal skin.  Gently scrub with a nail brush after soak, and rinse with warm water for a just from the spa look.

Want to take a greener approach to your skincare products?  Instead of using Mineral Oil, a cheap, heavy moisturizer that can plug up your pores and causes breakouts, use products that contain Beeswax.  Beeswax has the same hydrating properties as mineral oil without potential buildup.

For a moisturizing body butter that contains Beeswax, check out Supernatural Botanicals Body Butters.

Don’t you just love new gadgets?  Especially workout gadgets!  From heart rate monitors to Ipods, I love them all.  As an eco-lover, this little tool brings gadgetry to a new level.  It’s eco-friendly!  They are Yoga Paws.  Simply slide the yoga paws over your hands and feet, and they provide cushioning and support for your yoga or Pilates workout.  Also super beneficial for deep stretching moves, so you don’t lose your grip with the floor.  Great gift for a fitness-fiend.  They cost about $35.00 and can be purchased here.

Exfoliate Hands
Posted on February 11th, 2009 at 9:10 AM by Supernatural Botanicals

hands.jpg   Something happens to your hands once you are in your 30s and I do know it’s a painful process to witness (firsthand!)  The skin on the tops of your hands starts to age rapidly in your 30s.

I’ve found two things that help tremendously….exfoliating and moisturizing.  There’s not much you can do about the aging, but the appearance?  Sure, we can handle that one.

Wash your hands with a gentle soap, then add a teaspoon of sugar to the suds.  This gently exfoliates the skin on the tops of your hands, sloughing off that old appearance with it.  Secondly, you have to keep a great moisturizing lotion on your hands as much as possible.   Keep lotion or cream in your purse, in your car, at your desk, on your nightstand…keep it everywhere and use it regularly.

With regular exfoliation and moisturizing, your hands can look like they are in your 20s again.  So get the sugar jar and set it by your hand soap.  You’ll be amazed at how great it makes your hands feel and look.
